ASSAULT

Use this tactic when you need to drive the enemy out of a fixed fighting position, such as a trench, bunker or even a battle line. Your unit has to commit to the battle drill to the end no matter what the outcome. You can expect losses since this tactic involves attacking straight towards your objective regardless of cover. This tactic uses speed and fire power to accomplish success. Advance on line towards your objective until you are in range of enemy small arms or come under fire. Break into two elements, Bound and Overwatch. Bound and Overwatch until you have closed within 15 to 20 yards of the enemy position. The leader then yells the command “Breach!” Both elements then charge toward the enemy fighting position firing their weapons into the enemy position. Assault into or through the enemy position and then form a perimeter. Begin pushing the perimeter wider, to allow for follow on reinforcements.
