REACT TO CONTACT

This Attack Drill is very similar to the Hasty Attack Drill. Use this attack drill when the enemy has made contact with you. The shots have probably started flying at this point. You must first go through the decision making matrix much more quickly: attack, defend and withdrawal. Again break into two elements, the Base of Fire element and the Flanking element. The Base of Fire element is the forward element already in contact with the enemy. The Base of Fire element does just what its name says and lays down a base of fire. The Flanking element immediately begins to flank. Both elements begin to Fire and Maneuver together using the Bound and Overwatch method. Both elements attempt to maneuver towards the opposite flanks of the enemy while closing the distance to the enemy. One element lays down suppressing fire while the other element bounds toward the enemy’s flank. Typically an enemy position will fire on the nearest threat to them. So when the target shifts fire to the closer element that is when the opposite element becomes the bounding element. Continue this until both elements have assaulted through the position.

Notes: since paintballs are already firing and your position is compromised don’t be stealthy. You should continually yell out enemy positions and numbers and when one fire team is bounding and the other is overwatching.
